Little Montessori Minds

A small, new preschool (ages 2–5, 29 seats) on Gerritsen Avenue — city-permitted and recently inspected, but with almost nothing published about itself, starting with a website that's currently offline.

Accreditation check
The school appears in neither the AMS nor the AMI register (checked August 2026) — and with its own website currently offline, we could not review what the school itself claims. “Montessori” in the name is not by itself a credential. Status: unverified.

Red  Staff transparency

Nothing is published: no staff names, no credentials, no tuition — and the school’s own domain was parked (offline) at our August 2026 check, reachable only by phone. In fairness, the school is about a year old and its city record is clean; but as things stand a parent can verify nothing without visiting. Why this matters →

Gerritsen Beach

A compact, water-wrapped enclave in far south Brooklyn — one of the city's few true small-town neighborhoods, with bungalow blocks, a volunteer fire department, Marine Park's ballfields and salt marsh next door, and the B31 as the main link out. Family life here runs local, which is exactly the niche a 29-seat neighborhood preschool serves.

Overview

Little Montessori Minds is one of the newest permitted preschools in Brooklyn — the city register shows one year in operation — and one of the smallest in this directory, permitted for 29 children ages 2–5 at a storefront on Gerritsen Avenue. What we can tell you about it comes almost entirely from public records, because the school publishes almost nothing about itself: its own web domain was parked at our August 2026 check. The records, for what it's worth, are clean and current — see below.

Programs & ages

A single preschool program for ages 2–5 under a Group Child Care permit. The program is certified to administer medication — something many larger schools in this directory are not — which can matter for families managing allergies or daily medication. Whether classrooms follow Montessori practice in more than name is exactly what we could not verify from outside; the questions to ask on a visit are in our tour guide.

Tuition 2026–27

Not published anywhere we could find. Inquire by phone at (917) 968-0300, and ask for a written fee schedule — for context on what comparable Brooklyn preschools charge, see our tuition page.

Leadership & staff

No leadership or staff information is published. The permittee of record is Little Montessori Minds L.L.C., matching the program name. If you are the school: publishing who leads your classrooms and what training they hold is the single fastest way to move this profile's rating — here's the standard we apply to every school.

Accreditation & authenticity

The school appears in neither the AMS nor the AMI register (checked August 2026), and with its site offline we could not review any claims of its own. That leaves "Montessori" in the name unverified in both directions — it may reflect real practice, or just branding. A visit and the right questions settle it faster than any website.

What parents say

Formal review coverage is thin, as you'd expect for a school this new — a Yelp listing exists without a meaningful review base yet, and we found no coverage on the major school-review platforms. (Retrieved August 2026.)

Heard around town

Signals from public parent forums and neighborhood groups. Forum chatter is opinion — often anonymous — so take it with a grain of salt.

In a July 2026 thread in a Brooklyn parents' group asking for south-Brooklyn daycare recommendations, one parent recommended Little Montessori Minds warmly — "we love them," with nothing further. That is the only independent community mention we have found to date; a single data point, but a positive one, and notably the only school-specific signal this young school has anywhere.

Admissions

By phone. With 29 seats and a genuine neighborhood catchment, availability likely turns over unpredictably — call rather than wait for the website to return.

The school's own website was offline (domain parked) at our checks, so school-side claims could not be reviewed — this profile is records-only and the school is warmly invited to fill the gaps. This is an independent profile, not affiliated with or endorsed by the school.

Health & safety record

Violations heard and decided at the city’s administrative tribunal. We publish these in full, including when there are none.

No cases on record. No DOHMH child-care summons to this school appears in the city’s hearing records (searched under the school and permittee name, which are identical).

For comparison: across all 18,161 DOHMH child-care cases heard at OATH, 63.1% were sustained, 21.3% ended in default and 13.1% were dismissed. Most citations concern records, repairs and paperwork — staff immunisation files, premises upkeep, sink water temperature, background-check timing — rather than incidents involving a child.
