The Family Schools

Overview

Founded by headmistress Lesley Haberman in 1975, The Family Schools operate two Montessori programs in Midtown Manhattan (East 47th Street and West 46th Street). The schools were established to provide a warm, nurturing environment where children could develop independence, tolerance and creativity through Montessori hands‑on materials. An international staff introduces students to multiple languages, including Spanish and French, and the curriculum incorporates art, music and nature study. The Family Schools serve children from 18 months through grade 6.

Tuition

Tuition varies by program length and age. PrivateSchoolReview lists annual tuition ranging from \$22,784 to \$40,000, depending on whether children attend half‑day preschool or full‑day elementary school. As a small independent school, The Family Schools offer limited financial aid.
